An approach to inquiry

The work collected here begins with questions. These are the principles that guide its development.

Context before certainty.

A book, belief or tradition makes more sense when its historical, social and intellectual setting is visible. Clear explanation should preserve that context.

Claims should match the evidence.

Documented findings, proposed explanations and interpretation are different things. A meaningful tradition does not need a scientific justification to have cultural value; a scientific claim still needs appropriate evidence.

Credit the original work.

BookKad notes discuss books by their original authors. Aadvik Agastya is credited for the notes and commentary, not as the author of those books. Collected article previews link back to the publications where the complete work appears.

Match the format to the claim.

Long-form publication pieces aim for fuller context and a clearer evidential foundation. Notebook entries are shorter working observations and are presented as such rather than as finished investigations.

Make room for revision.

Understanding changes. Errors, outdated references and overconfident explanations should be corrected when identified. Suggestions about a specific article are best directed to the publication hosting it.
