Notes are not replacements for books
The best summary should make a book easier to understand, not make the original unnecessary.
A good note can map an argument, surface the useful parts and show where the author is strongest or weakest. But books also work through voice, sequence, examples and the slow accumulation of an idea.
The goal is not to flatten that experience. It is to give the reader a clearer way in.
